Steve Jobs said.. Chase your love. He was turned down but was still in love. However, in a relationship it won't work if the other person doesn't feel that love. It has to be parallel. You have to put your idealism in the trash.. First love or fifth, you have to learn to LET GO. If he walked away, LET HIM! Swallow your pride and accept that you can't get everything you want in this life specially when it involves somebody else's emotions. Hey, it's not a thing like you should just pass a written exam where you can work hard and get it.

You may be aching now. But you will make it through. And I swear you will love again. BE STRONG, will you, please? What's meant to be will end up good and what't not - won't. Love is worth fighting for but you can't be the only one fighting. At times, people need to fight for you. If they don't, you just have to move on and realize what you gave them was more than what they were willing to give you. Always fight until you should not anymore, and then, be fought for.

Please allow me to share this verse that I've been meditating on, from NIV life application study bible:

"Trust in the Lord with ALL YOUR HEART and lean not on your own understanding; in ALL your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths." Proverbs 3:5-6

Leaning has the sense of putting your whole weight on something, resting on and trusting in that person or thing. When we have an important decision to make, we sometimes feel that we can't trust anyone---not even God. But God knows what is best for us. He is a better judge of what we want than even we are! We must trust Him completely in every choice we make. Of course we should not omit careful thinking or belittle our own God-given ability to reason; but we should not trust our own ideas to the exclusion of all others. We must not be wise in our own eyes. We should always be willing to listen to and be corrected by God's Word and wise counselors. Bring your decisions to God in prayer; use the Bible as your guide; and then follow God's leading. He will make your paths straight by both guiding and protecting you.

Make HIM a vital part of everything you do; then He will guide you because you will be working to accomplish His purpose. ♥

Birthday Wishlist! :D

I don't really want much because most of the stuff I want I can buy for myself, and most of the stuff I want are more needs than wants. All I really want is good food, good company, and sincere notes from my friends =). But should you be willing to spend a bit of money and/or effort on me (ahem, Issha, hahaha), here are alternatives (without expecting that anyone will actually get me anything on my list).

1) Sakura, archival ink pen --.2 mm, in various colors. Archival ink is a type of ink which is designed to resist fading and weathering so that it will endure over time. I super need this since I love writing, and I want to use it in highlighting my bible, and other books that I meditate on, those I intend to make pamana to my future children. Hehe

2) Any organic and echo friendly stuff =). Including organic beauty products, my skin is sensitive kaya I can only use organic or mild/hypoallergenic ones.

3) A baby panda! :D

4) The whole set of "Kristine Series" pocketbooks by Martha Cecilia (I'm serious!)

5) Any object that has something to do with a) Flying, b) Music, c) Christianity

6) A baby panda! :D

7) Mix CDs! Playlists made specially for me, with cute stickers and writing all over.

Is it really just 18 days away til my buuurthday? I don't have any plans still. Haha.
Maybe I'll just get my closest friends together for drinks somewhere. I'm not really into throwing big parties.

Anyway, because we're suppose to write deep, meaningful posts whenever we turn a year older, that is what I will attempt to do right now.

Ok, things I have learned at the, ahem, ripe age of 21, haha:

1) I am not saying that I've been through much more in life than all 21-year olds, and I am not implying that everyone's life follows a pattern where we all automatically gain wisdom once we hit a certain age.

But when I see people my age, or those who are a few years younger than me going through heartbreak, or a dark night of the soul for the first time, I wish they'd believe when I say a) things will change... drastically. Nothing is ever permanent. You will change many, many times in the course of the next few years, b) there's a life out there waiting for you, one you haven't even conceived yet, and c) believe it or not, in a year, none of this will matter. Because I've been there. I haven't been everywhere, but I've been there.

Haha. I'm sure that somewhere out there, there's a 30 y-year old reading what I've just written and smiling at how naive I am, and how little I've been through.

2) Love is never an ultimatum.

And an ultimatum is the worst way to get someone to stay.

3) When it's time for a relationship to end, the worst possible thing you can do is try to prolong it, for WHATEVER reason.

4) Emotions are very, very fickle. Feelings are not accurate measures of the rightness or wrongness of an action.

5) Yes, there is no substitute for life experience. But it is usually better to learn from the mistakes of others than from our own. We can do this by observing other people's lives and listening to their advice. Take counsel from others instead of plunging ahead and learning the hard way. Experiences especially negative ones result to lost opportunities that would never come back, either in career, relations or finance.

6) One secret I know to not get insecure? Be exactly where God wants you to be, and be exactly who He wants you to be. In Jeremiah 29:11 God said "I know my plans for you." .. He has a plan for your life and when you know that you are 'living that life', there will be no room for envy or insecurities. God has laid down plans for you even before you were born.

7) There is no point to ever answer false charges. I will never defend myself against lies. How will you ever argue with lies? Just live the truth.

8) A person who hates you will NOT believe anything good about you. His brain automatically rejects it. Haha.

9) Never compare yourself to others.. Compare yourself to yourself yesterday. So there will be progression.

10) Our worth is not increased when people praise us, nor diminished when they criticize us. Our real worth depends on how God sees us; no more, no less.

11) SOMETIMES, people don't appreciate you when you're easily accessible to them. Distance is a must. Your value will be revealed in your absence.

12) This one I got from Issha. In life you will realize that the people you meet have a purpose. Some were put there to test you, some would use you, some would teach you, and some would bring out the better if not the worst in you... Some may even cause you pain and heartache but one must learn to move on... So let go of the people who can't treat you right, and thank God for those who love you back and see your worth.

Ok, I'm all out of wisdom.

how people treat others, particularly strangers such as clerks, or salesmen, and elevator operators and gas station attendants or janitors.. you can make a fairly good evaluation of what people think of themselves. Favoring the rich while ignoring the poor who can offer us seemingly so little in return, this is only one pronounced example, looking on one man as more important than the other.

We can all be guilty of being mean, and we can look down on others in more subtle ways. When we don’t accept a person for what he is, when we talk badly about other people specially when we don’t know them personally, when we gossip, when we praise someone and make the other person look less… you tell me. How easy it is also to excuse our indifference to others merely because we dislike them. And sometimes, we try to find faults in others to uplift ourself.

Confidence is not a matter of feeling superior to others or putting other people down in order to feel better about yourself. In fact, people with the most confidence have an uncanny ability to see the good in the people around them and to encourage them in their endeavors without jealousy.

That is why interestingly, people who see the good things about other people rather than finding faults rarely suffer from low self-esteem. Because again, confident people are humble enough and develops the ability to see the good and positive things about the people that surround them… without feeling jealous.

We should examine our attitude and actions toward others. Do we build people up or tear them down. And when we’re ready to criticize or look down on someone, we must be reminded that we should not leave loopholes in the law of good behavior.

The tongue is a vicious animal, whose words are capable of causing ultimate destruction.

The idea of a 'sharp tongue' was always humorous to me as a child. Mental pictures of huge pencil sharpeners shaping one's tongue into a spear would play across my mind. Such weird imagery is reminiscent of cartoons drawn by the late Basil Wolverton.

Probably no other part of the body has been used with such effectiveness both to build and destroy human lives throughout history. The tongue of powerful leaders have stirred nations to seemingly impossible feats or inspired episodes of willing personal sacrifice. An individual's expression of love or pain, even the fewest and simplest words, can reduce entire rooms of people to tears.

Who has not longed to hear a word from one we deeply love? Yet which of us has not also experienced great anger, frustration, irritation or pain from words expressed by the same person? Conversely, who among us is not also responsible for words of love and kindness that encourage and build---as well as for words that have shaken, hurt or even devastated another?

Is it not ironic though, that we most often direct these contrasting words of kindness and cruelty at the same individuals? A wife or a husband, a child, a parent, a brother or sister, or a friend. An old song goes: 'You always hurt the one you love, the one you shouldn't hurt at all.' Words can be the warmest of embraces or the hardest slaps in the face. Unfortunately, we tend to lose it with the people we know will love us anyway. THIS SHOULD NOT BE.

Many years ago I had read a book in which the author used the phrase, ‘the misty flats.’ I remember nothing else about the book, but I sure have visited some misty flats. I hate to admit it, but I’ve spent far too much of my journey in that very place. In spite of the fact that I know my way out, and could be walking beside still waters, or strolling through green pastures, perhaps even standing on a mountain top, I end up wandering aimlessly, wondering why the righteousness has gone from my life. Sure I am very happy, loved, and valued.. But being happy doesn't always mean I am where I'm supposed to be. I get preoccupied with just living day to day, feeding the desires of the flesh, and I wander off the trail, neglecting my Bible and forgetting to pray. I get so far away from the Lord that I convince myself that I’m going through a valley, when in reality I’m really just flopping around in a muddy ditch. I may feel like my circumstances are dire, but it’s my frame of mind that’s in need of an adjustment. I have been enjoying my self too much lately. I’m looking at things from my own earthly perspective rather than setting my eyes on things above. It’s my own sin; my pride, my selfish attitude, and my laziness that has put a black cloud over my head, and blocked my view of the Lord.

When I stay on the right path, I may encounter real valleys and storms, but I know that if I just keep heading straight, my Lord will bring me through. It’s when I try to side step, that I find myself back on the flats, and I know that one more misstep could take me into the mud and the mire of the slough. Thankfully, my Lord, is gracious and long suffering, and I’m only one prayer away from getting my heart right. Somehow, He nudges me back to the path He’s set out for me, and I step out into the warmth of His light. As I thank Him yet again for His mercy and grace, I wonder how I ever settled for the misty flats.

Issha: A long time ago story, my first job at Teleperformance if you remember, an American boss suspended me indefinitely cos he caught me not being nice to an arrogant customer, he promised me a due process and he will call me daw, pero I knew it he will not deliver the due process that's why I applied to Telus.. guess what? I just learned, that boss got fired and literally had a hard time getting a job and would borrow 500 peso from agents he know, kawawa daw, as in nag-hirap.

I do not recommend reading graphic novels before going to bed.

There are mountains all around us– but they aren’t physical. It can be a need for direction, financial breakthrough, healing of a sickness. The need to overcome obstacles, fear and anxiety that wants to take over and bring discouragement. There are failures, insecurities, and shattered hopes.

What are the mountains in your life?

No matter what, God is the one able to move those mountains. He is the One Who is mighty to save. He is the author of our salvation and the salvation of a hurting world. HE IS ALIVE. He rose from the dead. He conquered the grave. He is able. He does know. He can make a way when there seems to be no way.

Regrettably, we can look to the wrong things to move our mountains. We can try harder. We can just avoid our mountains. We can frantically look for help in every direction except to Him who sits on the throne of heaven.

Yes God can move mountains. But why is this truth can be heart-wrenching sometimes?
Because how many times have you cried out to God, " If you can move the flippin' mountains why won't you move this mountain in my life? " How many times have you questioned God, crying in tears of frustration and anger. It's painful because the truth is clearly evident: God can move the mountains. Heck, He made the mountains. God is able to move any mountain in our life if He so chooses! But why won't He move mine out of my life?

I am in the midst of a Bible Study and a few weeks ago we were studying the Obstacle of Unbelief. This spoke to my heart: 'Please understand. Christ is fully God. He can heal anyone or perform any wonder, whether the belief of the person is great or small. Christ isn't asking us to believe in our ability to exercise unwavering faith. He is asking us to believe that He is able.'

God may choose not to move mountains in our life. It is not our place nor our responsibility to believe that He will always move our mountains. But it is our place and our responsibility to believe that He is able.

I love the song 'Mighty To Save'. I find myself in tears whenever I hear this song, it's because I am always immediately brought back to my own mountains, EACH MOUNTAIN THAT GOD SAVED ME FROM. This song makes me cry, and make my heart ache with joy.

Yes
there were mountains, problems, complaints, even extreme pain.. Yes there were moments of utter frustrations with God. But I can testify that from EACH mountain, my God saved me.

I pray that today your heart believes that God is able. While it might be painful to know that He is choosing to not move your mountain, may you have a peace that surpasses all understanding as you trust that we serve a God who is able.

Remember…when you go to the LORD for help, He is the one who created heaven and earth. He never sleeps. He is watching over your life and has not missed a single detail. He stands beside you, ready to help and protect your life. Pray and share your heart with Him, share every mountainous burden and ask for His help, protection, and way through or over or around.

Tita Anabel is responisble for all of these workshops...haha, she is a great 'pusher' ! :p

Long over due na ang mga workshops na yan, but she's making it all happen now. She is really my number one encourager right now!

And a dance session daw with the G Force anytime soon??? Woooot! That will be like pushing me over the edge -- in a pleasant way, haha!

You've probably heard the expression "life's not a dress rehearsal."

Unfortunately, many of us unconsciously act as if it were. Like an actress just going through the motions in order to conserve her creative energy and focus for opening night, we hold back. Perhaps you save the pretty china for when company comes; perhaps you're like me and rarely dress up when you're home alone. If we're not playing to an audience, does it really matter?

I think that's a good question to ask ourselves as we examine the quality of our real life journey. It does take more effort to set an inviting table, but it enhances our enjoyment of eating. We all feel better when we take those few extra minutes to fix our hair and put on a little make up, but what's more, we act different. Every actress knows the magic power of props and costumes to create special moods both onstage and off.

Now none of us can be expected to perform every minute of our lives. But a lot of us might tap into the power, excitement, and glory of Real Life more frequently if we cast ourselves as the leading ladies in our own lives.

Bitter envy.

If 'envy' is desire for what another has, 'bitter envy' must mean a person wants something so much that he is angry and hateful over it. Bitterness is a child of anger and resentment.

Bitter envy takes jealousy to the next step by adding resentment and anger, and from it emerges words that STAB, CUT, TEAR DOWN, REFUTE AND DIMINISH. Envious words are bitter words: They are pointed and sharp, but their target is subtle. On the surface, they may even sound righteous, but in reality, they manipulate thinking --in the speaker's favor.

We use these to reduce the stature of another so we may seem to stand taller.

A talebearer or GOSSIP ONLY WANTS HIS LISTENER TO THINK LESS OF ANOTHER SO THAT HE MIGHT THINK MORE OF HIM. Yup, this is the underlying truth.

Here's a test: Do our words build or burn ? Do we talk badly about other people ? Do we focus on their flaws ?

If we build our stature by burning another's, we are standing on a platform of ashes that will crumble and topple us anytime. Only after I was gossiped about repeatedly did I began to see my own words of envy expressed. How foolish it had made me look, trying to stand taller on a pile of ashes !
